Who is entitled to wear a kilt?
Although each Scottish clan has its own tartan, more than 1,000 at the
last count, those not claiming even a remote family connection can choose
between three 'all-comers' tartans: Black Watch, the Caledonian and
the Jacobite. "All that we ask," says Deirdre Kinloch Anderson,
whose husband Douglas is the fifth generation to preside over the kiltmaking
firm," is that when people wear our national dress they do so with
respect for its traditions." Kinloch Anderson holds royal warrants
from Her Majesty The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HRH The Prince
of Wales.
